Grover Preston“Mike” Young, 63 of Chesapeake died September 5, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Marine Corps with 26 years of service including the Gulf War.

He was preceded in death by Father: Paul Eugene Young,
Mother: Thelma Louise Hudnall Martin and
Brothers: Bryan and Donald Young.

Surviving Are:

Wife: Sheila R. Henderson Young of Chesapeake,

Daughter: Mellisa Young of Chesapeake,

Son: Michael (Shawnda) Young of Chesapeake,

Grandchildren: Kalvin (Emaly), Jasmine (Andrew), Addilynn and one on the way,

Great Grandchild: Brayden,

Brother: David Young of Florida,

Sisters: Loretta Holliday of Campbells Creek,
Deborah Ibraham of Florida and

Special Niece: Rebecca Kidd.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday September 8, 2017 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Pastor Tim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Marine Corps League. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
