Larry Earl “Rocky” Nelson, 74 of Ashford went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He retired from Kroger Warehouse, Kanawha City and was a former employee of FMC Ordinance, South Charleston. He was member of Witcher Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and he was a longtime fireman with Racine Volunteer Fire Department where he also served as Chaplain. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He was prececed in death by Parents: Ira and Hazel Hutchison Nelson and
Brothers: Doyle Max and Charles Nelson.

Surviving Are:

Wife of 54 years : Roselyn Courtney Nelson of Ashford,

Son: Jeremiah (Emily) Nelson of Charleston,

Daughter: Tina Nelson of Charleston,

Sisters: Betty (Wayne) Parton of Blue Eye, MO,
Sue (John) Bowman of Green Forest, AR and

Brother: Rick (Rhonda) Nelson of Sparta, MO.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday July 16, 2015 at Racine Volunteer Fire Department with Rev. Jonathan Eubank officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the Fire Department. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
