Edward Lee  Nelson
Edward Lee Nelson, 78 of Winifrede passed away October 24, 2012 in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston after a short illness.

Born in Chesapeake, WV on November 4, 1933 he lived most of his life in Winifrede.
He was a 1951 Graduate of East Bank High School.

He Retired from General Motors in Elyria, OH and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an Upper Kanawha Valley Enterprise Community Board Member, was President of Fields Creek Watershed Association and was instrumental in getting sewer lines installed at Winifrede and along with Ben Newhouse, he was instrumental in bringing Wal-Mart to Quincy. He was also very active in the Adopt a Highway Program.

He was preceded in death by Parents: Teen and Inez Etta Goodwin Nelson,
Grandson: Stephen Douglas Nelson,

His Wife of 57 years: Carol Joyce Nelson of Winifrede,

Daughter: Donna Mitchell of Dunbar,

Son: William E. (Shannon) Nelson of Winifrede,

Granddaughter: Ciara Mitchell,

Grandson: Tyler Nelson

Great Granddaughter: Emma Jean Mitchell,

Brother: Kenneth (Shirley) Nelson of Kokomo, IN

Sister in Law: Norma Perdue of Stafford, VA and

Ed’s little buddy: Stephen Kidd

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday October 29, 2012 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Rev. John Haver officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
