George Newberry, 76, of Sylvester died May 27, 2012 at Marmet Health Care Center. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of Korean War and a member of Sylvester Church of God.

He was preceded in death by:

Brothers: Mose Jr., Aaron, Carl and Harland Copley and John and Bobby Newberry
Sisters: Virginia Runion, Ruth Cantley, Grace Underwood, and Jean Gardener

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday May 29, 2012 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Halstead officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas. Where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578. Friends may call 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home.
