Obituary for David D. Flint

David D. Flint, 72 of Charleston passed away March 21, 2024 in the Hubbard Hospice Unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston after a long battle with complications from diabetes and heart disease.

He was salesman and was a former police officer in Fayette County. He will be remembered for his love of family, his outgoing personality, his “jokes” and his “big heart.”

He was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Carrie Perry Flint, brothers: Charles, Carl, Walter and Frank, sisters: Dorothy Shamblin and Margaret Brogan Stephens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years: Virginia “Ann” Mann Flint, son Cody, daughters: Amber (Carson) Hale of War, Amanda (Mohammad) Hakim of Dallas, TX, nine grandchildren: Sana (Salman) Ghori, Dylan, David (Kylie), Rayyan, Yusra, Clayton, Edward Jr., Carrie Jo, Lanie, great granddaughter: Salamah, brothers: Virgil, Raymond (Judy), sisters: Loretta (Donald) Smith, Rose Means, Dreama (Jim) Igo, Betty (Greg) Payne, sisters in law: Dreama and Arlene as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, special friends and neighbors that will miss him dearly.

The family wants to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care, Charleston and the staff of Mountain State Health and Wellness as well as the special nurses at CAMC Memorial Hospital MICU.

Per his wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date (Further details will be posted to this site as soon as they become available). Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to Kanawha Hospice Care 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. Charleston, WV 25387 or to a charity of their choice.
