Charles Preston Skaggs, 76 of Martinsburg died November 13, 2023 at Valley Health Medical Center Winchester, VA.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Reathel Geraldine Pettry Skaggs, son: Michael Skaggs, parents: Hobert and Ida Louise Cochran Skaggs and brother: Danny Ray Howell.
Surviving are sons: Jerry (Anita) Skaggs and Joey (Margaret) Skaggs all of Martinsburg, grandchildren: Joey Jr.,Olivia and Jaxon Skaggs, Chelsea Henry and Taylor Keck and three great grandchildren: Athena and Noah Keck and Ada Lynn Henry, sister: Shirley Massey of Cabin Creek and brothers: John Paul (Valerie) Skaggs and Norman Eugene (Helena) Skaggs all of Cabin Creek and Kenny Lee (Scarlet) Skaggs of Scott Depot.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday November 17, 2023 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Rev. Donald Pauley officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Dawes Mountain where military graveside rites will be conducted by a U.S. Army honors team. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
