Obituary for Roger Dale Sloan
Roger Dale Sloan, 70 of Marmet died October 9, 2023 in the Hubbard Hospice Unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was a former Chesapeake City Police Officer and was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by parents: Ernest and Virley Young Sloan, brother: Darrell Eugene, Darvin and Steve Allen Sloan.
Surviving are wife: Ruby Rider Sloan of Marmet, daughters: Melissa Tweed and Amy Arrowood both of Greeneville, TN, Melinda (Christopher) Wilson of Chapmanville, Chasity Dunlap of Charleston, half brother: David (Phyllis) Anderson of Hernshaw, special sister in Christ: Patty Ellis Thurmond of Cedar Grove and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He will be cremated and his ashes will be interred in Huffman Cemetery, Hernshaw at a later date. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday October 28, 2023 at the Glasgow Church of the Nazarene. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
