Obituary for Margaret Ann White

Margaret Ann White, 74 formerly Dorothy died April 29, 2023 at the home of her daughter Kimberly in Elizabeth City, NC where she made her home for the last 7 years.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and worked for Paul Cox serving food to coal miners for many years. She was a wonderful person who always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She was a member of Pearl Street Pentecostal Church, Elizabeth City, NC.

She was preceded in death by husband: Ralph Randall White, parents: Edwin and Winnie Chapman Elswick, brothers: Emory and Bimbo Elswick and sisters: Margie Chacon and Shirley Bance.

Surviving are her daughters: Kimberly (Greg) Turner of Elizabeth City, NC, Candy (Clayton Brown) Atkins of Beckley, son: Randall White of Fairdale, brother: Johnny (Jeannie) Elswick of Sylvester, grandchildren: Tiffany (Nathan) Akers, Ashley (Jimmy McKinney) White, Johnathan Turner, Candace (Kory) Jarrell, Cassie (Ryan) Gavoni, Stephanie (Jason) White, Jordan (Selyna) Atkins, Isaac Atkins, Jeremiah Atkins, 19 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Elizabeth City and Williamson, NC and her granddaughter Cassie for taking care of Margaret in her last days.

Funeral is Noon Thursday May 4, 2023 at Sycamore Free Pentecostal Church of God, Colcord with Rev. Rick Lowery and Mike Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Estep Cemetery, Ameagle. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 3, 2023 also at the Church. The family will also welcome visitors at 487 Beech View Road Mount Hope, WV 25880. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
