Roger, a beloved member of the Adkins family, sadly passed away on 4/2/2023 at the age of 77, surrounded by his family at CAMC.
Roger had a special passion for animals, especially his cat Tiny, the cat he adopted in New York, many years ago, and a stray cat he named Maddie, who recently adopted him. His love extended beyond his pets, to all of the neighborhood animals as well. Katie, Joeys Golden retriever, and Mary's dog jayden, are still at his door waiting for him to come out and give them a treat.
Aside from his love for animals, Roger cherished his family beyond measure. He never missed an opportunity to be present in the lives of all of us, wether it be vacations, birthday parties, or spontaneous trips or holiday get togethers. He was always happy to lend a hand wherever he could.
Roger had a special place in our hearts, and we will miss him dearly. We will never forget the love he gave so freely and the impact he made in our lives. Though he might be gone, his memory will live on
Preceding Roger in death was his mother, Ruth Adkins.
Roger is survived by his loving family; the cousin he loved like a daughter, Ernestine Adkins-Stephenson and husband Allen,
cousins he loved like sisters, Debbie Crawford, Marta Springer and husband Don, Mary Thomas, Geraldine Pack, Carolyn White, Barb Bostic, Freda England. Special friend he loved as a sister, Becky Profett and her daughter Lacie Blodgett from NY, Cousins he loved like brothers, Frank Adkins and wife Susan, Tommy Smith and wife Connie.
Cousins he loved as grandsons C.J. and Joey Brown.
He was like a great pawpaw to Kailyn and Kannon brown, Ellie and Annie Hively, Aiden Thomas, and Hayden Green.
