Obituary for Alvin R. Guthrie
Alvin R. Guthrie, 73 of Seth died March 13, 2023 in the Hubbard Hospice Unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was a hardworking construction worker and was wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by son: Mark Allen Guthrie, parents: Ray Henry and Nola Davenport Guthrie, brothers: Ronald L. and Elmer Lawrence Guthrie and sister: Alice Faye Guthrie.
Surviving are wife: Sheila Kay Richards Guthrie and sons: Jamie Ray Guthrie and Jeremy Lee (Angie) Guthrie all of Seth, brother: Eddie Jerome (Lois) Guthrie of Orgas, sisters: Edna Mae Midkiff of Bloomingrose, Virginia Brennan of Maryland, Grandson: Jordan Mark Guthrie, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
