Ronald E. Cooper Sr., 81 of Chelyan died November 24, 2022 at home.
He was a retired coal miner from Cypress Amax Coal Company in Cannelton. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by son: Paul Ray Cooper, parents: Brooks and Mary Mitchell Cooper and sister: Patricia Dixon.
Surviving Are: Wife Omie Leavitt Cooper of Chelyan, sons: Ronald E. (Mary) Cooper Jr. of Diamond, Thomas (Tamra) Cooper of Pratt, Dana Cooper of Chelyan, brothers: Danny Cooper of Winifrede, Roger (Dorothy) Cooper of Chesapeake, sister: Brenda (Larry) Ball of Tennessee, grandchildren: Jill Cooper, Nicole Garrison, Thomas “T.J.” Cooper, Dustin Cooper, Victoria Smith, Brooke Cooper, Cassidy Mooney, Dana “D.J.” Cooper, Ronald Cooper III and Hunter Cooper, great grandchildren: Alaya, Kylie, Jaxon, Arebelle, Hazel, Thomas “Trip” III, Brayden, Cohen, Kyson, Noah, Kannon and Lincoln and many other family and friends.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday November 30, 2022 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Rev. Scott Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
