Obituary for Joseph Benjamin Griffith III
Joseph Benjamin Griffith III, 74 of Hernshaw died November 8, 2022 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was a retired coal miner and was an electrician for Mount Olive Correctional Complex. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Kanawha City Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school. He was also a longtime coach for youth league football and baseball in Marmet.
He was preceded in death by Parents: Joseph Benjamin and Emma Lloyd Griffith.
Surviving Are: Wife: Kathy Goodyear Griffith of Hernshaw, Sons: Joseph “Joey” Griffith IV of Hernshaw, Jason (April) Griffith of Sissonville, Grandchildren: Austin, Dylan and Tanner, Brothers in law: Bobby (Patsy) Goodyear of Handley and Mike Goodyear of Charlotte, NC.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday November 15, 2022 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Rev. Chris Keyser officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
