Obituary for Alice Faye Butcher
Alice Faye Butcher, 71 of Costa went home to be with Jesus on November 3, 2022 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston after a short illness.
She was born November 28, 1950 to the late Stewart and Clara Alice Hughes Dotson.
Alice had ten siblings, an infant, Kermit, Claude, Lula, Betty, Bertha, Cookie, Raven, Mickey and Stewart all who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband: Richard Lee Butcher.
Surviving are sons Carl Butcher, Keith (Gina) Butcher and Mark (Kay) Butcher, grandchildren Jeremy, Josh (Mary), Jordan (Abie), Katie, Jared and Conner and great granddaughter Payson Butcher.
Alice dedicated her life to teaching children and took pride in every aspect of sharing her knowledge and finding new ways to help them learn. For over a decade she worked for Morris Enrichment Center.
The family would like to thank CAMC Memorial Hospital for the excellent care that was provided for Alice while in their care. Special thanks go to nurses Greta and Patrice for their compassion and attention and to Rev. Ray Stonestreet for his support and encouragement in her last days.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday November 8, 2022 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church, Charleston with Rev. Ray Stonestreet officiating. Visitation is 2 hours prior to the service at the Church. Per her wishes, she will be cremated after the service. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
