Cecil Richard “Buck” Tolbert, 92 of Marmet died May 15, 2022 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
He was a retired coal miner from Cypress Kanawha Mining at Hawks Nest and was a former employee of V.N. Green where he operated heavy equipment. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a Christian and attended Chesapeake First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by Parents: Richard and Martha Miller Tolbert, Brother: Claude Allen “Jack” Tolbert, Nephew: Bipsie Tolbert and Son in Law: Paul E. Cook.
Surviving Are: His wife of 67 years: Reba Reynolds Tolbert of Marmet, Children: Terry L. (Dwight) Shamblin of Gallipolis, OH, Richard Brian (Karen) Tolbert of Charleston, Paula Cook of Charleston, Grandchildren: Chad (Rain) Shamblin, Bray (Amanda) Shamblin, Wyatt (Breanna) Cook, Makenzy Tolbert, Great Grandchildren: Karsyn, Emma, Hunter, Hudson, Kennedy, Lincoln, Olive, Indiana, Eddison and many other family and friends.
Memorial service is 7 p.m. Thursday May 19, 2022 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Pastor John Reed officiating. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
