Obituary for James Edward Perdue

James Edward Perdue, 78 of Marmet died November 25, 2020 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he was a P.O.W. He later became a Christian minister to local prisons. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping and flea markets.

He was preceded in death by Wife: Ina Perdue,
Grandson: Eric Young,
Great Grandson: Brandon Young,
Parents: George and Millie Dickens Perdue,
Brother: Samuel Perdue and
Sister: Retha Perdue.

Surviving Are:

Children: Kathy (Shawn) Abbott of Marmet,
Deborah (Mark) Bygum of Belle,
Sherry (John) Johnson of Chesapeake,
Edward Perdue of Charleston,
Mary Ellen (Jeremy) Perdue of Ohio,
Timothy Perdue of Ohio,

The mother of his children: Connie Perdue of Chesapeake,

Brother: Herbert (Theresa) Perdue of Miami,

Sister: Loretta (Tracy) Stover of Winifrede,

17 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Old Glory Freewill Baptist Church, Winifrede with Rev. Tim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Massey Cemetery, Winifrede. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the Church. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
