Obituary for Lewis Allen Morris

Lewis Allen “Louie” Morris, 68 of Winifrede passed into the arms of our Lord suddenly on May 25, 2020 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He attended the Hughes Creek Freewill Baptist Church for several years.

Louie was born October 9, 1951 in Charleston and grew up in Marmet, WV. He was a 1970 graduate of East Bank High School where he met and married the love of his life Robin Laws.

He was a retired painter for W.Q. Waters and was a member of Local 970 IUPAT of Charleston. He was a devoted supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and angler. He loved being outside and enjoying the mountains and wildlife. He was a direct descendant of William “The Pioneer” Morris, the first permanent settler of the Kanawha Valley.

He was preceded in death by Wife: Robin Carol Laws Morris, Parents: Wilbur and Hester Stanley Morris, Brothers: Lloyd Leon, William “Donnie” Morris and James Lomax and Sister: Jacqueline “Willi” Morris.

Surviving Are: Sons: Eric Allen (Carrie) Morris of St. Albans, Jason Leon Morris of Chesapeake, John Wesley (Erica) Morris of Winifrede, Grandchildren: Trevor and Austin Morris of St. Albans, Hunter (mother Hope) Morris of Winifrede and Adley, Layla and Josie Morris of Winifrede, Sister: Nancy (Gary) Massey of Chesapeake and A host of Nieces, Nephews and many special friends.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday May 30, 2020 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Pastor J.B. Lee officiating. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Per Louie’s wishes, cremation will follow the services.
