Obituary

Billy Vassel, 90 of Chesapeake died April 28, 2020 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was a retired truck driver from Houff Transport.

He was preceded in death by Parents: Jake and Minnie Green Vassel and
Brothers: Jake Vassel Jr. and Frederick Vassel.

Surviving are:

Wife: Mona Lee Wendell Vassel of Chesapeake,

Daughter: Elizabeth Ann Harvey of Jodie,

Stepsons: Joseph Lee Payne of Jodie,
Luther E. Payne of Hamlin,

Sister: Sarah Elizabeth West of Charleston and

Brother: Charles Vassel of Oklahoma.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a private family graveside service and burial will be held at Marmet Cemetery. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
