Obituary for Paul David Curry

Paul David Curry, 77 of Chesapeake went home to be with our Lord on November 19, 2019. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Paul retired from the Kroger Company and was a member of Slaughters Creek Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a deacon, Bible teacher and choir member. He was a true man of God and loved his family and Church family. He was a graduate of East Bank High School, attended WV Tech and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Christian Heirs Quartet and his bass voice will also be missed by the choir. He was the happiest when the grandchildren came around and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. We love you Paul!

He was the son of the late William and Brittie “Sis” Lavendar Curry and is also preceded in death by Brothers: Ronald and Robert Curry.

Wife: Barbara Miller Curry of Chesapeake who was his high school sweetheart,

Daughters: Tammy (David) Payne,
Sherri (Ron) Shaffer,

Sister: Debby (Rick) White,

Brothers: Don (Ruth) Curry,
John (Judy) Curry,

Sisters in law: Sue and Lois Curry,

Grandchildren: Krista (Gary) Beaver, Paul David Payne, Tyson Shaffer, Adam and Austin Payne,

Great Grandchildren: Adria Payne and Skyler Beaver,

His lifelong friend: Randy Estep,

One special lady who has been like a sister for most of his life: Jenny Hansford and
A host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday November 23, 2019 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Rev. Gary Smith, Rev. John Hudson and Rev. Tim Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Curry Cemetery, Marmet. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
