Harold “Buddy” Kearns, 77, of Chesapeake died January 29, 2010 at Home.

Born May 10, 1932 in Marmet, he was a Member of Marmet First Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He Retired from Kanawha County Schools after teaching for 28 years and coaching for 21 years at East Bank High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was past Ambassador for the Kidney Foundation of WV for Many years. He was also a former recipient of the East Bank High School Alumnus of the Year Award.

He was preceded in death by Wife: Larna Dalton Kearns on October 13, 2002,
Parents: Harold and Nondous Blake Kearns and
Sister: Evada Mae Dunlap

Surviving Are:

Sister: Elvalee Moore and her husband Spencer of Huntington and

Several Nieces and Nephews


Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday February 3, 2010 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, WV with Pastor Rick Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
