Nesbert Forson "Nedd"  Doryse
Nesbert (Nedd) Forson Doryse entered into his eternal rest on August 17, 2018 at Veterans Home of California-Chula Vista. He was born on January 29, 1927 in Huntington, WV to the late Spencer Dawson and Letha Mary Redd Dawson.

Nesbert was raised in Huntington, WV where he received his formal education. He then later moved to Chesapeake, WV with his family. Nedd enlisted in the United States Air Corps (currently Air Force) on December 29, 1945 and received honorable discharge on February 9, 1947. He fought in the World War II and was awarded a victory medal. After he came out of the service he worked various jobs. Nedd loved music so much he used to own a juke joint for a short period of time. One of his favorite musicians was Muddy Waters. In 2006 while admitted in Windsor Gardens Rehabilitation San Diego, CA he dedicated his life to the Lord.

He is survived by his sisters Anna Belle Smith (Sylvester) Rand, WV, Betty Ruth Dawson Charleston, WV, Thelma Blanks (Rev. Leon) Charleston, WV, Magnolia Brown (Levi) Chesapeake, WV, Gloria Dawson Bronx, NY and one brother Spencer Dawson (Alta) Gary, IN. Nedd was predeceased by his sisters Emma and Shirley, brothers Genes, Joe and Frederick. Nedd leaves to morn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family of the Late Nesbert “Nedd” F. Doryse would like to express our deepest appreciation for the comforting words, phone calls, prayers and support during our time of bereavement. Special thanks to the entire staff that cared for Nedd at the Veterans Home of Chula Vista, California, Chaplain Christa Battles and staff at Vitas Innovative Hospice Care. We are eternally grateful. Funeral will be Noon Monday August 27, 2018 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Evangelist Sylvester Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
