Obituary for Harold E. Eplin Sr.

Harold E. Eplin Sr., aged 86 years of Ashford, passed away at his home from cancer on November 29, 2018.

He retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass Co., Kanawha City. He was Christian and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a very giving man, never wanting to see anyone go hungry or without a place to stay. He strived to do good work daily and to help as many people as he could.

He was preceded in death by Parents: Lewis and Josephene Burns Eplin,
Brother: William “Bill” Burns of Ashford and FL and
Sisters: Virginia (Bill) Hogshed of South Charleston and Lettie Mae Reed of TX.


Surviving Are:

Wife of 64 years: Emogene Workman Eplin whom he married on Christmas Eve, 1954,

His four children, who he was always helping with anything they may have needed: Harold E. (Christine) Eplin Jr., Roger (Debbie) Eplin, Lewis E. (Anna) Eplin and Melinda J. (Jon) Griffith.

Nine Grandchildren: Twins: Chloe and Claire Eplin, Caraline Griffith, Emily Griffith, April Burke, Crystal Calvert, Rebecca Eplin, Alexander Griffith, Jonathan Eplin and

Six Great Grandchildren,

Sister: Louise (Henry) Hill of Tucson, AZ and

Brother: John D. (Arlene) Eplin of Ashford.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday December 3, 2018 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet. A private family graveside service and burial will be held in Eplin Family Cemetery, Ashford at a later time.
