Obituary for Indra Robinson Clendenen

Print
Indra Robinson Clendenen, 96 of Racine, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston.

Indra loved and was loved by her family and anyone who met her. She was a devoted Christian and the oldest member of First Baptist Church of Racine. She retired from Boone County Schools where she served as a Cook for many years at Racine Grade School. She was known not only for her delicious rolls, but also that famous chocolate pie. She was a great seamstress and made beautiful quilts for her loved ones. She will always be remembered for sending cards to anyone and everyone she knew. If you were family or a friend of her family she took you in and called you her own. She constantly had a smile on her face and was always glad to welcome her family and friends into her home at any time.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Heck, mother, Indra Robinson Foster Dugan, step-father, John “Pat” Dugan, brother, Jack Heck, husband, Clarence K. Clendenen, son, John K. Clendenen, and daughter, Frances “Ronnie” Clendenen.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her daughter, Jeannie Lanyi of Charleston, daughter-in-law, Patsy Clendenen of Elkview; grandchildren, Robin Turturice, husband Guy, Tricia Kingery, husband Alex, Jennifer Clendenen Williams, and Johnna Stickler, husband Mike; great-grandchildren include Rhianna, Rhylee and Lance Turturice, Alexandra Kingery, Mackenzie, Lilly and Kailey Williams and Noah, Christian and Silas Stickler and many nieces and nephews; special lifelong neighbors, Louise and Paul Harris, and many, many friends.

Special thanks to her caregivers Lena Osborne and Melissa and David Gay.

Service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Racine with Rev. Anthony Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Drawdy Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the Church. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Racine, 534 River Road, Racine, WV 25165.
